Firefly magic happens every year around the summer solstice. In June of 2020 we had a couple active days of firefly activity, then the rain and cold set in, shutting down most of the action.
I find fireflies to be very polite bugs. Fireflies, which are from the beetle family, rarely land on me, and when they do land, it’s gentle, plus they don’t bite! Compare that to June bugs, who make an “I’m out of control” buzz when flying, and tend to fly straight into humans. Wham! Just try standing outside during the June bug hatch next year.
