Earlier this spring I stopped by for a photo session of Monica and her horses. She brought all four of her horses into a small corral between two of the old buildings. Shortly after I entered, I realized this corral was too small for horses that weren’t getting along all that well. Starr became agitated and started chasing another horse, which cruised within inches of me. I shot from the chest as they rapidly went by me, too fast for me to raise the camera. I was just a bit nervous about getting crushed. The next shot is my favorite. A couple horses had already bolted, knocking down the fence near Monica, leaving this horse amped up and looking for an escape route. The mane tells all, flying in every direction and the horse with energy to spare.
